ROBINS skipper Troy Batchelor endured a disappointing night at the Swedish Grand Prix in Malilla.
The Aussie could not follow-up his third-place finish in Daugavpils at the Latvian GP with a meaningful result, as he mustered only two points from his five heats at the G&B Arena.
Starting from gate one in heat two Batchelor set the tone for his night, finishing third behind Jason Doyle and Andreas Jonsson.
Things did not improve as he could score a point in his next three outings, only adding a second point to his total in heat 20, by which time all hopes of a place in the top eight had long gone.
The result leaves Batchelor 16 points short of automatic qualification for next year’s series, but with six GPs still to be contested the Robins skipper has ample time to turn it around.
Former Robins number one Peter Kildemand did not fare much better in Sweden. The Dane posted one second and one third placed finish to score three points.
Nicki Pedersen was the winner on the night, winning the final from GP leader Tai Woffinden and home wild card Antonio Lindback.
The British champion remains on top of the overall standings as he ended the night with the same points as Pedersen, 17, courtesy of a superior finishes in the heats.
