SWINDON Robins boss Alun Rossiter has called for an immediate response to their crushing defeat at the hands of Elite League champions Poole Pirates last night.

The Robins will resume their play-off push at home to Lakeside Hammers this evening, the first of back-to-back meetings against the Essex outfit.

Swindon were simply outclassed at Wimborne Road as the Pirates triumphed in 12 of the 15 heats and Rossiter says it is crucial his team do not dwell on that performance.

“There is no good pondering on it, we have just got to move forward and get on with it,” said Rossiter.

“We have just got to forget this and move on, park it and move on. It’s done and dusted. We need three points tomorrow. Lakeside are in town and we have got to get three points.

“The boys are riding the Abbey really good and I’m hoping we can do it again but you never underestimate anybody. People may say Lakeside are poor but you never want to be disrespectful.”

Rossiter is sweating over the fitness of reserve Charles Wright after he suffered two heavy falls in Poole.

He could become the third Robin on the sidelines, with Nick Morris and fellow reserve Lewis Rose also injured.

Hans Andersen has already been booked to again cover Morris, while Robert Branford will come in for Rose.

“We will have to see how Charles is in the morning and go from there,” added Rossiter. “He has got a severe cut, it’s a really bad gash.”
