COVENTRY Bees rider Chris Harris says that his side do not fear a resurgent Swindon Robins as they prepare to travel to the Abbey Stadium on Thursday.

The British Grand Prix star played a pivotal role in keeping Swindon in the play-off picture last night as his 10 points while guesting for the injured Nick Morris helped Swindon to a 52-38 win over Wolverhampton Wolves.

Despite the boost that Aussie rider Darcy Ward has given Alun Rossiter’s side since his arrival, Harris is sure that the Bees will fear nobody come the season finale in September.

“The team Swindon have got here is good and when you have got Darcy leading from the front it is easy,” he told the Adver.

“They straightened up a lot when Darcy came in, so you can’t underestimate them, they have got some good riders. Batch is a world class rider, as is Zengota.

“I am sure they will be (a threat in the play-offs), but the Bees won’t be worrying, we fear no one.

“But you can’t underestimate anybody in the play-offs, because when they come around it all starts from scratch.”

The Monmore Green track specialist jumped at the chance when Rossiter gave him the call to guest, and says it says a lot about how much Aussie youngster Morris has improved over the last year.

“Nick has come on leaps and bounds and this year he has stepped up again,” added Harris.

“Unfortunately for him he has hurt his arm a couple of times, but I am sure he will be back for Thursday and he can carry on where he left off.”
