SWINDON Robins will be looking to stamp their authority on the play-off places when they play host to league leaders Coventry Bees tonight.

The arrival of Darcy Ward has sparked the Robins into flight and Alun Rossiter’s side have now won three on the bounce, only tasting defeat once in their last six meetings.

On Monday, Swindon’s latest victory came on the road at Wolverhampton Wolves, a feat that had not been achieved since 2012 but has now happened twice in the space of as many weeks.

That win lifted Swindon above King’s Lynn and back into the fourth play-off spot, level on points with Belle Vue in third.

Coventry skipper Chris Harris played a big role in that triumph, as his 11 points guesting for the injured Nick Morris helped Swindon over the line.

However, after masterminding a three-point victory over the Bees back in May, Rossiter says his revitalised side should not fear anyone.

“We shouldn’t be frightened of them,” said Rossiter. “Everybody knows Coventry are strong, but we shouldn’t be fazed by them and hopefully the boys will be on song.

“We have just got to keep doing what we are doing. I am making no predictions about the play-offs at this stage.

“Anything can happen between now and then, like injuries, as we have seen this season.

“I have got to make sure that we keep picking up those points.

“We have got to go to Coventry twice, we have got to go to King’s Lynn and we have got to go to Belle Vue, so our destiny is very much in our own hands.

“I can’t see why we can’t do it.”

The Robins will also be boosted by the return of Nick Morris, who has been sidelined for two weeks with an elbow injury.

However, Rossiter is expecting the Aussie to be race rusty and will be putting him through his paces ahead of tonight’s meeting.

“We’ve got Nick back on Thursday, so it is going to be a bit of pressure on him, but hopefully he will come back firing,” added Rossiter.

“He is going to be a little bit rusty, I am sure he will, but I am going to make sure he's back in shape this week for sure.”
