SWINDON Robins chief Alun Rossiter reckons that the difficulty levels have been ramped up ahead of his side’s crucial clash with King’s Lynn tonight by the Stars’ capture of two high-quality guests.

Three days after losing at Belle Vue Aces, Rossiter’s men face-off against another rival for the Elite League play-offs when they welcome King’s Lynn to the Abbey Stadium tonight (tapes-up 7.45pm).

The Stars will be missing Czech rider Vaclav Milik and teenage prodigy Robert Lambert, who are both injured, but will be lining up with Wolverhampton Wolves number one Freddie Lindgren – the Swedish world cup winner – and former Robins man Dakota North in Blunsdon.

Fifth-placed Swindon still have fixtures in hand on all of the teams above them in the table, with the deficit widened even further by last night’s trip to reigning champions Poole Pirates being rained off, but points on the board are Rossiter’s chief concern as the season enters the business end.

However, the Robins team manager is expecting a stern test that has been made all the tougher by Lindgren and North’s inclusion.

“It’s going to be a tough meeting because King’s Lynn want to get in the play-offs too and they’ll be up for it,” said Rossiter.

“They haven’t got Vaclav Milik or Robert Lambert but they’ll have Freddie Lindgren and Dakota North and they’re two good guests – it’s going to be hard, especially with those two riding.

“We’ve got to try and win at home. It’s as simple as that.

“We’ve got to be up for it ourselves and we know what we’ve got to do but we’ve got to be on our game.”

Wednesday’s trip to Poole has been rearranged for Monday, August 24.

Following tonight’s meeting with the Stars, the Robins head out on the road again for another crunch clash, with Rossiter’s side taking on Coventry Bees at Brandon tomorrow.
