SWINDON Robins team manager Alun Rossiter said that the loss of Jason Garrity for the hosts was a big leveller as his side completed an impressive 55-36 win on the road at Coventry Bees.

The 21-year-old reserve was ruled out of tonight’s meeting as he continued to struggle with a back injury.

The hosts were also without Hans Andersen and Stuart Robson as they started with a patched up side.

Swindon were not without their own issues as both reserve riders Charles Wright and Rob Branford were missing, with James Wright and Rob Shuttleworth guesting for the visitors.

Darcy Ward scoring a paid maximum, alongside a Troy Batchelor’s 12, paid 14, points secured the emphatic 19 point victory to the delight of Rossiter.

"It was a fantastic performance," said the Robins boss, who was full of praise for new rider Aaron Summers who has hit the ground running with another 10 points last night.

“To win away again; that is about four or five now on the road and we’re on fire at the moment.

“It is a bit of the Darcy Ward effect, but everyone is confident because we are on a high.

“We are not frightened of anything at the moment and it is a good feeling.

“Our top five had to be on top form, but they ended up without Jason Garrity and I do believe they rely heavily on him.

“It showed tonight, because he can pop out and win against second string riders and heat leaders.

“I think they are very reliant on him and it evened itself out tonight because we had not reserves tonight.

"Full credit to our top five riders.

“We had the opportunity of doing that and once I knew that Jason was out I could smell a bit of blood.

"Aaron (Summers) has been fantastic. Two 10 points, two meetings on the trot, five away at Belle Vue and I can't ask for much more than that.

“That was the reason I made the change, because we just needed to bolster that number two spot.

"He has come in, he is not fazed by anything, he has got the experience and he is doing really well."
