SWINDON Robins asset Jason Doyle has said that it is too early for him to say if his future lies back in Wiltshire.

The Aussie's name has been rumoured with a return to the Abbey since an interview last month where he said he was considering his options after airing his frustrations over Leicester Lions’ Saturday night meetings.

However, the 30-year-old has said that he will have a clearer idea of where his future lies once the Elite League AGM has taken place at the end of the month.

Doyle, who has already signed for Swedish side Rospiggarna, made it clear though that he would put the interests of himself and his partner Emily first when it came to making his decision.

“It is too early to say where I will be next year,” he told the Adver.

“Of course you get offers from clubs to speak about what is going to happen next year but you can’t really do any deals in England until the AGM at the end of this month.

“With the season finishing a little bit earlier than normal, I think we need to wait a couple more weeks before we can decide.

“I want to be riding in England.

“A few things need to be changed for myself. I need to find out the best way to plan my season without having the problems I did in August with too many meetings and too many fixtures clashing.

“It’s not 100 per cent that I want to go anywhere else.

“There are a lot of teams after me at the moment but I have to chose what is best for myself and for my partner.

“I haven’t seen a lot of her in the last year and that is the major thing we need to discuss.”

Doyle was set to appear at this Sunday’s Abbey Farewell meeting but has opted to pull out to concentrate on his home Grand Prix the following weekend.

In Torun last weekend Doyle lifted himself to fifth place in the GP standings after a second place finish and is looking to go one better when he gets to Melbourne.

“I’ve opted to pull out of that meeting because it is just a bit too close to Melbourne,” he added.

“In case something happens to during the meeting I don’t want to take the risk.

“Melbourne is probably the biggest one I have been looking forward to all year and I don’t really want to be injured for that so I have kept myself safe to go hard at this one.”
