LAST season’s reserve rider Lewis Rose will not be making a return to the Abbey Stadium for the 2016 campaign after signing for Elite League rivals King’s Lynn Stars last night.

Stars boss Rob Lyon announced the signing of the 26-year-old at a function at the club yesterday evening alongside fellow reserve rider Lewis Kerr.

Rose struggled in his first season at the Abbey and admitted himself, at the end of the campaign, that it felt like he was still learning the track.

That was not helped by a serious injury where Rose missed a large chunk of the season with a hand and shoulder injury.

Meanwhile, Kerr continues his remarkable comeback on the bike after being left in a coma following a horror crash in the Premier League Fours event in Peterborough last season, with concerns that he may never walk again.
