SWINDON’S Nick Morris is targeting a successful Australian Championships which get underway this weekend.

The 21-year-old will take his place in the four-round individual series with round one being staged at the famous Kurri-Kurri venue on Saturday.

The popular Robins racer says a strong performance over the four rounds would be the perfect preparation for the 2016 British season.

“Winning the Aussie title would be an awesome way to start the new year,” 21-year-old Morris said.

“I want to win the title and add it to my CV as well as grab a spot for the Speedway Grand Prix qualifying rounds but I know it won’t be easy.

“It’s a tough schedule for all of us, with the travelling and the four meetings in such a short space of time, but I’m ready and can’t wait for the opening round.

“The field really is wide open this year and you need to run as many ‘A’ finals as you can over the four rounds and see where you end up.

“I want to improve again next season and riding in the qualifying rounds for the Grand Prix is where I want to be.”
