I’M RARING to go for the new season. I’m delighted to be back in Swindon and I’m pretty optimistic we can do really well.

The last time I was here was in 2011. Alun Rossiter wasn’t really involved and it was the end of the Leigh Adams era and they had to rebuild from that again.

But now, we’ve got a great team and I know we’re going to win the league – I’m happy to say that with confidence.

I would have been 18 or 19 when I was here before. I’m 24 now, so obviously you mature a lot, you learn a lot more things, and hopefully I can use that to my advantage a little bit.

The Elite League hasn’t got any easier from when I was in it last with Lakeside in 2012. It’s still just as hard with the race format and everything, so hopefully I can set a good tone at the start of the season and carry it all the way through.

I probably came over a little too young before but that’s the past now. You can’t look backwards and you can only move forwards.

I’ve had two good seasons with Edinburgh in the Premier League but I definitely feel like I’m ready for the Elite League again – and I’m in the right team for it.

We won two league titles while I was at Edinburgh, we won every trophy there was to win, so that was a pretty cool feeling and hopefully I can bring some of that success here.

I’m really looking forward to it and the team looks great. And I can’t praise the management enough because they’ve done everything that they told us they were going to do.

It’s going to be a busy year for me as I’ve also signed in Poland, Denmark and Germany as well but I think I’m ready for it.

I feel fresh and I’ve had a bit of a break as it was a pretty busy winter for me, with lots of racing in Australia.

I’d had six weeks off a bike because I rode all winter but now I really want to ride again and I can’t wait for the season to start.

I had a crash in one round of the Australian Championships in which I dislocated my shoulder but other than that, I broke three track records in the championships, so it showed that I was going fast.

To bring that form over here and carry on is a good thing.
