SWINDON Robins trip to Lakeside Hammers tonight has been postponed due to a poor weather forecast.

Alun Rossiter's side were looking to build on their 51-40 win over Belle Vue Aces at the Abbey last night.

Hammers co-promoter Jon Cook said:“Our track manager Gerald Richter and myself have looked at all weather stations and directly talked to the Met Office and all forecast wet conditions of varying degrees with a biting easterly wind from 4pm through to Saturday morning with no break.

"Given that we have to build the track and fence on the day we’ve decided to call the meeting off now to cause the least expense and inconvenience to all concerned."

Swindon now have a week off before their next meeting away to Coventry Bees on Monday, May 2.
