LAST Thursday at home to King’s Lynn was a pretty good night for myself, getting a paid maximum, and for the team.

To get a paid maximum was pretty cool. It is my first one for Swindon and I haven’t done anything different; it just seemed to all fall into place at the same time.

I think when you win your first race and win another one, you kind of don’t want it to stop and when you are winning races, it is pretty fun.

At the weekend, we saw the other side of the sport with the two bad crashes in Poland.

It was a bit unfortunate with Jason (Doyle) having a nasty crash and you don’t really want to see your team-mates get hurt, or anyone else for that matter.

With Krystian Rempala, I don’t really know too much of the information but he has had a very bad crash and is not in a good way.

As a rider, you hope they are alright but you also can’t look into it too much. You send your wishes for them to get better and hope that they pull through but as a rider, you don’t want to know too many details of what happened.

You are aware of it but you can’t dwell on it too much. Obviously, Darcy Ward had a nasty accident whilst at Swindon last year, which ended his career, so an accident like this maybe resonates a bit more with Robins fans.

For some reason – I don’t know why – it seems to happen in Poland a lot. People rave on about British tracks being unsafe but over the last five years, there have been some very nasty accidents in Poland.

There are some very high speeds, so it is something that obviously needs to be looked at.

It is a bad thing because riders get injured and you don’t want anybody to get injured, especially yourself, but I think the best thing is to get on your bike and ride.

At the end of the day, it is your life and you know what the consequences are when you get on the bike.

Looking forward to Thursday’s meeting at King’s Lynn, I think we go into it feeling pretty pumped.

Beating them by a big margin at our own track was a good thing and we’re going there to win it – a win or a point would be a good result.
