SWINDON Robins team manager Alun Rossiter said that a team were always going to get a hiding eventually as their 19-point victory over Coventry Bees left him feeling sky high.

The Robins sent out a message of intent to their play-off rivals as they secured a 55-36 win at the Abbey Stadium to lift them up to second in the Elite League table.

Justin Sedgmen top scored for the hosts as he picked up four wins from his five races to collect 12 points and was well supported by Jason Doyle (10) and Rohan Tungate (8+1).

Swindon had a 22-point lead at one stage as they recorded five maximums in their conclusive win over the Bees and Rossiter was glad to get one over Coventry boss Gary Havelock.

“I was very pleased with the boys tonight,” he said.

“It has been a long time coming, a result like that.

“I knew we were going to hit a team and hit them hard and it is quite nice because there is always a bit of rivalry with Coventry.

“Havelock winds it up on social media so it is always nice to get one over on them.

“Early on it looked very good but you never know and they came back at us a couple of times.

“Sky said we took our foot off the gas but the final score was 55-36 so I don’t think we took it off that much and I didn’t even put my number one out in heat 15.”
