MONDAY’s victory against Poole was a night of mixed fortunes, with the team doing really well but me personally suffering a mechanical problem.

It was one of those things, Jason Doyle and I were winning the first heat and I broke down. It is frustrating when it happens because it’s hard to come back as you feel like you’re chasing the meeting from there.

The problem was my primary chain snapped but that’s motorsport, it’s not like football or rugby where if the player is having a bad game it is all on them, in motorsport if something happens mechanically you can’t prevent it.

I went pretty good for the rest of the meeting - on the night I was frustrated but since then I think I did good really.

It’s a team sport, when I came back into the pit Doyle was there straight away sorting the bike and the other boys were there as well.

It was another setback for me because I was trying to find form, but it was good to have those boys behind me to help out - moving forwards we got all the three points.

As for the rest of the night they all rode really well against Poole and it was awesome to beat them as they’re reigning champions.

I feel like it’s changing a little bit, we went through a bad batch of results where we weren’t really firing, it’s all getting pretty serious now and everyone is stepping up.

We can definitely grab something from Wolverhampton and then go back to Manchester to face Belle Vue and beat them.

Last time we went to Manchester we didn’t have Doyle and we beat them, that was a really good team performance.

It’s important the riders are stepping up now the pressure is on, we want to be in the playoffs, you don’t start the year wanting to come second.

Rohan Tungate is driving well and Doyle is one of the best riders in the world at the moment so you always stand a chance, when you watch Doyle, you can see he is definitely pushing for that world championship.

If we get to the play-offs we have a team that can win so once we get in there we can throw everything out of the window and cause an upset.
