ALUN Rossiter and his Great Britain troops will step up their preparations for the 2017 season with a two-day training camp at King’s Lynn this week.

Rossiter, who is also team manager at Swindon Robins, and his full GB squad will also be joined at the Adrian Flux Arena by four of the country’s most promising youngsters.

The camp will also give the GB team some useful track time at the venue that will host the opening meeting of their World Cup campaign in July.

“One of the important things is the bonding and the fitness side of it,” said Rossiter.

“We’re fortunate that Buster (Chapman) is one of those who can sort the track even if the weather is looking iffy, so we decided to stay in England this year.

“Also we have the World Cup round at King’s Lynn. I know we’re a while away from that but it gives everyone a chance to have some good time on track there.

“The whole idea is to get everybody there, and this week we will have around 18 riders, including the youngsters.

“We’ll have a good team bonding session, and we’ll go through the fitness side of it and the food side of it together – everything from top to bottom. From the first fitness session we had at King’s Lynn, the signs are very positive.”
