JASON Doyle and Nick Morris will be Swindon Robins’ team at the SGB Premiership Pairs event at the end of the month.

Skipper Doyle and fellow Australian Morris will go for glory against teams from the seven other top-flight clubs at Somerset Rebels’ Oaktree Arena on Friday, March 31.

The competition marks the beginning of the new campaign, with Swindon getting their Premiership schedule under way the following day when they travel to Leicester Lions.

Meanwhile, Robins new boy Adam Ellis has been handed an automatic place into the British U21 Final next month.

Ellis, who has joined Swindon for the new campaign from Poole Pirates, is one of six seeds who automatically qualify for the final at Poole’s Wimborne Road home on Wednesday, April 26.

Robert Lambert, Josh Bates, Liam Carr, Max Clegg and Dan Bewley join Ellis as the other five seeded riders.

Another Swindon newcomer, Zach Wajtknech, will look to join them when he competes in the U21 semi-final at Peterborough Panthers’ East of England Showground on Tuesday, April 11.

GB Youth boss Neil Vatcher said: “Considering the top six British U21 riders have already been seeded directly to the final, the quality of this semi-final is very strong indeed.

“I would imagine that there will be some disappointed riders out there who have not been included, but the standard of these young British riders has increased over the last few years.

“I for one would not like to pick out the riders in this semi-final who will qualify for the final.”
