WHILE our last meeting seems like a long time ago, I haven’t had a complete break as I have still been riding for the Peterborough Panthers in the Championship.

I was riding on Sunday against Edinburgh, where I had a fair old crash and pretty much wrote the bike off on the first turn in heat 14, but I managed to come away from it all right.

Since then I have just been spending time rebuilding the bike.

It’s something I enjoy because it gives me something to do, otherwise I think I would go crazy from having nothing to do all week.

Riding for two teams has also been good for me. Last year I was only riding in one team and you end up doing nothing all week.

Riding more frequently has been good for my progress too and I enjoy having the busier schedule compared to last year.

On Saturday, I am racing at Peterborough so will probably take Sunday off and then play with the bikes on Monday and Tuesday.

The last result for Swindon was a great win at Poole and some people might think the break could have killed any momentum that we had, but I don’t think it will.

Everyone is riding somewhere else, we are all at least riding in another league in England or in Poland so as long as everyone is on the bike, it doesn’t affect you too much.

The break has also meant I have had a bit of time to reflect on how I’ve done at Swindon so far, and I think I have done all right.

Obviously I still want to be doing better than I am, but I think it is going good so far. Hopefully I can just keep on improving. I am hoping that I’ll be able to continue that into our next home meeting with King’s Lynn.
