NICK Morris admits Swindon Robins’ high-scoring riders are in need of stronger support from the rest of the team as they look to stop their season stagnating.

Alun Rossiter’s side started the month with a stunning victory on the road at Poole Pirates in the SGB Premiership but have since been beaten in their last three fixtures.

The Robins were defeated at home by King’s Lynn Stars and away at both Belle Vue Aces and Wolverhampton Wolves, with all of those losses coming in the space of five days.

Morris has been in exceptional form this year for Swindon, with his points average of 8.62 only bettered by skipper Jason Doyle’s 9.80 at number one.

David Bellego is not far behind on a mark of 7.89, but all of the remaining four riders in the Swindon septet average less than 3.30.

Australian youngster Morris is keen for the whole team to chip in with a few more points in order to help turn Swindon’s stuttering form around.

“We just need a bit more back-up. Myself, Doyley and David have been doing all we can, we just need a few more points and we will be winning meetings,” said Morris.

“It’s just not happening at the moment for one reason or another and that’s just how it goes.

“A lot of the guys are quite inexperienced so it’s not easy, especially with what they have done with the averages. It’s hard on the young guys and we have got to have two Brits in the team as well.

“For whatever reason we are not going that great at the moment but hopefully we can get it all sorted and start winning meetings.”

The Robins are back at the Abbey Stadium on Monday night when they entertain Somerset Rebels.
