SWINDON Robins’ Adam Ellis helped Great Britain U21s reach the World Cup final on Saturday night in Germany.
The former Poole Pirate scored 12 points to help Neil Vatcher’s side finish second in their semi-final behind Australia.
Ellis was joint top scorer for Great Britain alongside Robert Lambert, while Josh Bates chipped in with nine and Dan Bewley scoring seven, however, Ellis Perks did not race.
However, 15-point maximums from Brady Kurtz and Max Fricke ensured that the Aussies finished seven points clear of Vatcher’s side, while Germany’s first team ended the meet with 33 and the hosts’ second string’s quintet could only muster two points.
The second semi-final in Denmark was abandoned due to the weather at the halfway stage, with the result standing. At that stage, the hosts had 24 points with Sweden on 17.
The final takes place in Rybnik, Poland on September 2.
