JASON Doyle will miss tonight's meeting with Wolverhampton Wolves with an injured foot after riding in the Danish GP just a couple of days after having surgery.

That was impressive but I think riding with an injury is just something you get used to when you are a speedway rider.

I injured my hand in our home defeat to the King’s Lynn Stars during the middle of May and it’s not really any better now than it was then.

I had two crashes the week after I came back from that, and went down on it both times, no-one really knows but I am struggling big time with my hand, it is giving me a lot of grief.

Generally I wouldn’t normally race with an injury. Last season I pulled a medial ligament in my knee and I carried on riding through, which was major pain.

I was going around the track screaming from inside my helmet.

With Doyle riding in the World Championship, he has shown a lot of guts to go out there and race a few days after having surgery on his foot.

When you’re at that level, and there is a world title on the line, I think you have to go for it.

Most speedway riders are pretty gutsy. I’m sure there are a few who aren’t but we are normally pretty hard because you’ve got to be in this game.

With all the crashes and the injuries, you just get used to that kind of thing.

It will would be a blow to lose both Doyle and Nick Morris, who is a doubt, to injury.

We could lose both of them at the same time and they’re two key riders in the team.

It is going to make the meeting a big ask but we will still go there, we will still try to win and there is no reason why we can’t.

King’s Lynn Stars pushed them close on Monday night, they lost 48-42, but it shows they are beatable.

We’ve got Troy Batchelor guesting for Doyle and he had a good showing around the Abbey last time he was here, so there is no reason why we can’t make a good go of it.

I’m looking forward to tonight's meeting at the Abbey. Because they’ve been so infrequent, it doesn’t really feel like a home track.

We have only ridden there a handful of times this year but I guess, from now through to the end of the season, they should be a bit more frequent and then we can get a bit of a pattern.
