SWINDON Robins skipper Jason Doyle will ride for Australia in tonight's FIM Speedway World Cup Race Off in Leszno, it has been confirmed.
Doyle sat out Event One at King’s Lynn last Saturday as the Aussies lost out to Great Britain in the race for the final and there were doubts over his participation in this evening's Race Off in Poland, where his side will go head to head with Russia, USA and Latvia for the one remaining place in tomorrow night's final..
However, the World Championship leader took part in this afternoon’s practice and came through the session and will take his place .
Confirming Doyle’s return live on SGP Facebook page today, Aussie skipper Chris Holder said: “He’s still hobbling around on crutches, but it’s good to have him here. We need him. It’s good of him to turn up.”
Doyle has been recovering from three broken bones in his right foot, sustained in a crash in league action in Poland last month.
