SWINDON Robins rider Bradley Wilson-Dean is revelling in his team’s recent upturn in fortunes after Alun Rossiter’s troops made it a magnificent seven victories on the spin last week.

The Robins’ emphatic 57-33 win at home to Rye House Rockets last Thursday lifted them to within two points of the top of the SGB Premiership table, although pace-setters Belle Vue Aces have since extended that gap after their victory over Wolvehampton Wolves on Monday.

Having had to wait until the fourth attempt to claim a first home league win during the 50-42 triumph, also over Rye House back on June 15, the Robins have now won four meetings in a row at the Abbey Stadium.

New Zealander Wilson-Dean is thrilled that Swindon have been able to turn in a succession of positive performances on home shale.

“It was really good to win in front of the home fans again and that result against Rye House capped off a really solid week for the team,” said Wilson-Dean.

“We’ve only dropped one point from the last seven meetings and we can’t really ask for much more than that.”

The 22-year-old linked up with the Robins at the start of the season during Rossiter’s team overhaul over the winter and has held onto his place in the side despite indifferent form.

Since the start of the campaign, Robins chief Rossiter has made two more changes to his septet, with Danish rider Emil Grondal being replaced by Dany Gappmaier, before Poland’s Tobiasz Musielak then came in for the Austrian.

Musielak has been a revelation since joining the club, already boasting an average of 6.73 points after his first five Robins meetings, and Wilson-Dean was quick to heap praise on the new recruit.

“Since Tobiasz came in, our season has turned around,” Wilson-Dean said.

“We have got a really solid side at the moment and I think the riding order is better now.

“The meeting up at Leicester last Monday showed that the place for me is at three with Tobiasz at two instead.

“I think everything is working pretty good at the moment and everybody is really positive about what we can do.

“We’ve all been chipping in points so we’re all doing our bit. We’re all in really good spirits at the moment but we’re not going to get ahead of ourselves as there is still a long way to go until the end of the season.”

Swindon resume their Premiership programme tomorrow night and will be looking to extend their winning run to an eighth meeting when they welcome Poole Pirates to the Abbey Stadium.
