SWINDON Robins rider Nick Morris believes they are a side ‘to be feared’ as they head to King’s Lynn Stars tomorrow on the back of eight-straight victories.

The Robins are riding on the crest of a wave at the moment which has seen them climb to second in the SGB Premiership.

In contrast, King’s Lynn are in a state of change having only yesterday released Grand Prix ace Chris Holder, who is currently serving a suspension, and former Robin Troy Batchelor, who played a pivotal role in Swindon’s current run when he filled in for the injured Jason Doyle.

Having gone through their own changes, Robins number five Morris, believes they have put the frustrations of the early part of the season behind them.

“We weren’t that strong to start with and a few of the guys were struggling but we have clicked a gear now and we’re strong,” he told the Advertiser. “The rhythm is going well and the team has really found some form.

“We’re strong all the way through and it’s good like that.

“I think we’re a side to be feared.

“There’s a long way to go and it all starts again in the play-offs. We’ll enjoy it while it lasts but we need to stay focused.

“I just think all the boys are riding well.”

Swindon sit 11 points clear of tomorrow night’s hosts and know a win will be a big step in them securing a spot in the end of season play-offs.

However, like team manager Alun Rossiter, Morris is remaining calm in the situation and knows that they must be at their best when they travel to King’s Lynn.

“We’re going to take each meeting as it comes,” he added. “We’re not getting too carried away. King’s Lynn are a good team and it’s not going to be easy going down there.”

Meanwhile, Swindon reserve Zach Wajtknecht has received positive news in his road to recovery, with doctors opting not to remove his torn spleen, suffered during last weeks’ win over Poole Pirates.
