THE postponement bug hit Swindon yet again yesterday as their Elite League clash at Wolverhampton was called off.
The Robins had been due to take on a hosting side minus star man Freddie Lindgren and possibly Tai Woffinden and Ty Proctor, due to injuries suffered by all three riders.
Even with the in-form Ipswich man Scott Nicholls recruited as a replacement for Lindgren, the meeting was widely viewed as a decent opportunity for Swindon to pick up points at a venue where nothing other than home league wins have occurred all season.
But with heavy rain forecast for yesterday evening, the decision was taken mid-afternoon to pull the plug on proceedings. The call-off means Swindon have now had eight meeting postponed this season and five in the last 25 days.
Meanwhile, new Robins ace Maciej Janowski contributed 10 points to the cause as Poland finished third at the World Under 21 Team Cup at Rye House on Sunday.
The youngster claimed the scalps of Eastbourne’s Simon Gustafsson and Coventry’s Lewis Bridger amongst others along the way.
Denmark won the event with Sweden second and Great Britain finishing fourth behind Poland.
