JAZZ Carlin has been nominated for British Swimming’s inaugural Athlete of the Year award in recognition of her achievements throughout the season.

The sport enjoyed its best ever performance at a Commonwealth Games and topped the medal table at the European Championships for the first time in history with a total of 11 gold medals and two world records.

British Swimming has nominated five athletes that fans of the sport can vote on. The five swimmers are Adam Peaty, Francesca Halsall, Jazz Carlin, Ross Murdoch and Siobhan-Marie O’Connor.

Voting is now open on the British Swimming website where you you can select your Athlete of the Year with the winner announced on December 16.
