I dont care what Paolo has said on the subject recently. I sincerely believe he now has a squad that is capable of achieving automatic promotion, provided he continues to manage the squad exactly as he has in our two previous games !.

Two excellent performances against Stevenage and Walsall, followed by Saturday's result. For me, it is no coincidence that these impressive wins came with Bostock in central midfield. Roll on Tuesday!

Also delighted to see a brace from Collins and an excellent solo effort from Williams starting to fill the gap left by Benson!!

An ironic comment for those not sure!. Same could be said about Luke Rooney and how we were mad to let him out on loan. Substituted on first game and left on bench for second at Rotherham. That win on Sat was so so important for many reasons.I hope he can more or less stick to the team he has used over the last couple of games.
Again Tuesday will be another tough match,still you get the feeling the squad have the ability to do the job.

How can you not be a fan of PDC? He's brought us great success, we play (mostly) good to very good footy. He's passionate, committed, cares about the club. Yes he may shoot from both hips at times but that's the man. I'm claiming legendary status like some, but come on you can't help but being a fan. Off football, his little wiggle to the Yeovil fans was pure genius...

For a player who is clearly carrying too much weight, I thought he had a cracking game. What would he be like if we get him properly fit? More worryingly, will we get much benefit from it, or will he just go back to Norwich a better player and do the business for them instead?

Redhouse and Kojack - also lets not forget Storey wasn't in the team either - so i'm still shocked how we didn't draw a blank!

Den - I doubt he will be getting back in the Norwich team anytime soon - been out on loan too much recently (i.e was out last year at Palace)

They clearly feel his level is Top L1 /Championship and have moved on

Also Martin's comments about playing to win a contract doesn't suggest it is a fitness thing him being out from Norwich

The comments from Collins sugest we will get a benefit - he said you can see the quality and that makes you raise your game - then he and Williams net 3 the first game Martin is here!

Nice to see the doubters coming round and albeit reluctantly acknowledging the good job PDC is doing - and as for Martin, judging by the pub banning orders in Suffolk might be the drinking aswell as the eating that he needs to cut down on - onwards and upwards, despite the haphazard impression that we sometimes get PDC is actually managing everything brilliantly and playing everybody including the fans, the players, the media and the board like a finely tuned violin - the man is GOD - we've never had it so good !!!

Fair comment LR. I suppose we'll just have to wait and see. I also take your point about the new face providing a kick up the backside for the others, but there was plenty of competition there already, so it shouldn't really have been necessary.

When i said I had never been a fan of pdc,what I meant was not his ability and football management.Just sometimes his attitude with players comments made in public that maybe should have been dealt with inhouse.
As I said I admire him and no doubt about it he is finally managinh HIS TEAM.so apoligies for earlier comments etc.
Also again a lot is lost in translation with the media as I speak Spanish and the local fall about at what I come out with.
So as said admire what he s doing and with nmedia as said it proved it with positive problem with chiris matin needing to eat less and givin Macca a bolloking

HAHA nice one , like it. We have a plethera of decent strikers right now. I like Benno but Martin albeit a little "heavy" at the moment is a shade better.

Not the comparison game again! They say comparisons are odious. Trying to compare Town managers is worse than that - it's impossible, as they were all working under different circumstances. Iffy Onuora might have done OK if he had the luxury of the budget we have today and wasn't shat on by having that nice Ron Atkinson brought into the club. People might now have been looking back on PDC as a complete disasater if he had been operating in the same conditions.

It could be argued that the only one of the five that we really know is Wilson, as he was with us long enough to show the best and worst of what he can do.

it was the best game of the season so far! the difference is we are playing as a team now we defend as a team and attack as a team we had so many players in there box all game macca made the only mistake all game which lead to the goal but other than that you cant fault the performence would have prefered thompson to macca but im just being picky hopefully we keep it going tomorrow because although we are only 3 points off top 2 11th place is only 5 points off us so need to keep it up COYR!!!

Mallorca, I don't know why I let your comments wind me up but they often do as it's obvious you've never been a fan of PDC since he came here. You almost always have a snide dig at him or his management style.
Of course a lot is lost in translation but you seem to realise that and still miss that what he says is well thought out and said for a reason.
He says out loud what other people think. Blunt and to the point.
He keeps players feet firmly on the ground, doesn't let any player get big headed and hero-worshipped (like Austin) hence why not one player is safe from his rants (Foderingham) or the exit door (Caddis). The players know that and still the dressing room is as good as I've ever seen it. They're a team with not one player standing out, acting bigger than the rest. They all play for each other, support each other if not picked and are ready to fit into the team if they are. Something very special has happened at our club, turned us around, and there's only one person to praise and thank for that. The person you so often direct your snide comments at!
He's had a couple of games praising the players so expect them/someone to get another b*ll*cking within the next few games. It's his way of keeping them focussed and, from where I'm sat, it seems to work.

Just try to read between the lines and see more of the positives in PDC for a change. We're so very lucky to have him and, unfortunately, it won't be forever.

That is an exatrordinary display of back peddling, hats off! Martin was fit enough to get on the pitch Saturday and looked good to me as well, just to allay your midweek concerns (I say plural as you must have asked "is he fit?" at least three times - was going to suggest asking the ladies their opinion...)

Doesn't look at the top of his game just yet I'll admit but that can only be a good thing as it means there's better to come and what we've seen so far seems to suggest he could do well for us.

Getting back to the article above, I think tomorrow nights game will be a much harder test to reveal just how good we are . I don't think for a moment it will be as easy or as one sided as Saturdays game. In my book it will be a lot closer and it will be interesting to see how our midfield do, especially against the experience of the Dreaded Douglas.
A lot of focus will be needed but I'll be very pleased to see Collins trying to repeat his two goals. I don't expect to see Williams, in fact I hope he sits this one out so not to aggravate his knee injury and then get a sustained run alongside Collins. Cut them some slack because the signs are there its coming together.

Anyone have any idea why he took Bostock off when he was one of our best players.... whilst leaving Roberts on doing nothing? Eventually Roberts did come off but can't understand why the best player got subbed before the worst.

With those that say Brentford will be a much tougher test tomorrow and we'll see how W(if he plays) & C fare trying to score against their defence - if they receive a similar service and achieve a similar result then even an old sceptic like me may even start to believe they can walk the walk.

How can you not be a fan of PDC? He's brought us great success, we play (mostly) good to very good footy. He's passionate, committed, cares about the club. Yes he may shoot from both hips at times but that's the man. I'm claiming legendary status like some, but come on you can't help but being a fan. Off football, his little wiggle to the Yeovil fans was pure genius... * Who have you been a fan of? Wilson? Hart? Malpas? Iffy?

Not the comparison game again! They say comparisons are odious. Trying to compare Town managers is worse than that - it's impossible, as they were all working under different circumstances. Iffy Onuora might have done OK if he had the luxury of the budget we have today and wasn't shat on by having that nice Ron Atkinson brought into the club. People might now have been looking back on PDC as a complete disasater if he had been operating in the same conditions.

It could be argued that the only one of the five that we really know is Wilson, as he was with us long enough to show the best and worst of what he can do.

Have to agree with you Den, rediculous comparison to make between Paolo and Iffy.

Iffy deserves better than that with the weight of the crap board he was carrying on his shoulders I have nothing but respect for him. Top bloke who never stood a chance from the start..
