Some really useful un-budgeted additional income

Hmmm... First of April, perhaps SA are just trying to get in a really early April Fools joke!!

Everyone "wants to watch the Town"

Would be great to have a TV home game.....and show the Nation how good we are :)

Another 30k in our coffers then, that'll be helpful to Paolo ( won't it ?).
Talking of T.V Harry Hill has just sent Calamity James a cheque for £250, just sayin !

The way I now see it is that Swindon Town are the Man U of league 1. Everyone wants to see us because we are so attractive ( many thanks to my hairdresser you do a great job haha) .
We play good footie and score goals , thats what people want to see.

Did someone say that the split of the TV revenue from Sky is 75-25% in favour of the home team?

In which case it would be fairer if Sky gave us one home game, although all of our promotion rival clashes are away from home.

They will want the Sheffield United game as well after we beat Donny , that will be a cracker

On a serious note - TV or not...we need to get the fans up to Doncaster as we need full vocal support behind the team in the ground and not 160 miles away back in Swindon.
...
Like most I think that this could be a crucial 'Auto v Play-off' decision point and definitely one we want to win.
...
Can't knock fans for saving £50 in petrol and the ticket but we REALLY need our fans up there!

The hardcore away fans will go anyway - TV or not as that is what they do
.
This just helps fans like me who won't be venturing that far North as a chance to watch the town in action
.
Also as said it also adds vital extra coffers in the pot as we would not be getting £30k from Donny!
.
So with Crawley, Yeovil and Donny thats £90k on top of our share of the gate - now surely that is enough to fund Hollands and Martin until the summer!

It might be. It can hardly fail to be better than the home game, that's for sure! That was awful - two teams just lumping the ball forward and hoping for the best. Around that time we seemed to go into a spell where we abandoned all hope of success by playing football. Thankfully we are playing a passing game again now but also mixing it up a bit. I don't think Eddie Howe was being disparaging when he talked about our game and players being more suited to the conditions than theirs on Saturday. He was probably just stating a fact. It's nice to have that bit of strength in the side to help us cope like we obviously did on Saturday. I just hope we never go back to that awful hoofball of a few months ago.

What would be great when we play sheff utd is we are already up and they have to get a result to win an automatic spot but we score the winner in the last minute.

Although i've got nothing against DW that would be supreme if that happenned a last minute winner and PDC going mad on the touchline and maybe another broken dugout by one of our coaches and 20k plus gutted united fans,

This money will be welcome. The club cant bank on it though until the game has been played, a bad weather postponement of any of the TV games is presumably tough luck? Still April 1 should be safe enough (touching wood).

If their combined weekly wage (or at least what we are expected to pay of it) is £8k and we have 12 weeks to fund after end Jan then it should indeed do it, more or less. Let's hope the board agree.

I think Paolo's prayers are being answered three games now on the TV Sky Sports this really is great news and like others said 90k is excellent when not expected. At this rate may be we can get Bostock back but still feel we need a keeper as back up for Fods.

Going to be an interesting Easter, Oldham at home on the Saturday followed by the Donnie game on the Monday. Don't get to travel to many away games now adays, but going to the Wirral next weekend with the family and hoping to see a repeat of the 5-0 trouncing, but think it will be a lot closer.

Great to have 3 away games to see on Sky, but same as Oxford last season, ( I went to the £25 reception), I think there is opportunities for the marketing people to do something at the CG to encourage fans that can't travel to fill the Legends and the Winners and generate additional revenue. Obviously extra money for a televised home game might be good for the revenue but unfortunately it does tend to lower the attendance, although season ticket numbers count as attended, whether they are there or not. Haven't missed a home game since the season of dispair under Wilson, (touch wood), so not bothered too much if they televise a home game or not.

Now for the inevitable arguments with the locals round my way who'd rather watch Man Utd or whoever... know the Crawley game is clashing with a united game so will have no chance of getting that on the tv!
