- HALF-TIME: Orient 0 Swindon 0
- Few chances in difficult conditions at Brisbane Road
- Ritchie tests Jones in only shot on target
10:41pm
If given the chance, boss Paolo Di Canio would like to bring in two or three new players before the transfer window slams shut, following Joe Devera's injury this evening.
The Town manager also said no progress has been made in moving Lee Cox and Luke Rooney away from the County Ground.
PAOLO DI CANIO
“Before it was one or two, and now maybe it is two or three.
“We have Joe out, and I wasn’t enjoying the way Flinty played tonight and linked with the others, so I have to make sure we have competition because we have a short list of defenders.
“Macca was adapted to play there but has found difficulty at a different level, and we have only two adult centre-halves. They have similar characteristics in some way, but I need slightly different.”
10:37pm
Town manager Paolo Di Canio was in the dark regarding the future of the club when he spoke to the media after the game.
PAOLO DI CANIO
“I don’t know nothing now, and I want to travel back and see if something happened or not," he said.
“I was always positive, I am negative now because of the game, but time flies quick and I want to make sure in which direction we have to run and start working on the way we can run to make the best for this club.
“I hope for the positive one, but any direction can be there.
“If something goes not the way we wanted we don’t know what is going on for this club.
“It is fantastic the fans jumped around and waved the arms and clapped the team, and I want to make sure they can keep going on in this way and this natural behaviour. They live without thinking anything wrong can happen, and that is the only positive energy we can take.
“We don’t know what can happen in the next 48 hours."
10:25pm
Town keeper Wes Foderingham came to his side's rescue late on with a superb save from Jimmy Smith, and was pleased to do what was asked of him on another quiet evening.
WES FODERINGHAM
“The conditions were bad and the pitch was difficult, so it was a tough game," he said.
“That (not having much to do) has been the case a lot this season, and the cross that came in earlier I should have tipped over the bar, and if I hadn’t then made the save I would’ve got hammered for it.
“I am just pleased I was able to be there for the team and make the save when they needed me.”
10:23pm
10:15pm
Town boss Paolo Di Canio believes his side created the better chances this evening, but was unhappy with a few of his players.
PAOLO DI CANIO
“I am very disappointed with some of my players, but I will tell them why," he said.
“There is obviously not long left of the transfer window and there are a few rumours, and maybe that affected a few of them.
“We dominated in terms of chances, but we didn’t look like we should score, and that was disappointing.
“The subs were very bad where in the last few times they have made a difference, and always I can blame them but I blame myself.
“I will work more with my players and myself and make sure we know what is going on.”
9:35pm
FULL-TIME: Leyton Orient 0 Swindon 0
9:34pm
90 minutes: A sublime long ball from Ritchie sets Williams free, but the striker can’t get the ball out from under his feet and can only scuff if straight at Jones.
9:33pm
88 minutes: Foderingham hasn’t had a save to make all night, but makes a superb stop low to his left to deny Smith. Three minutes added.
9:30pm
85 minutes: Ritchie swirls in a corner, which is only just too high for Ward who can only head high and wide when free at the back stick.
9:29pm
84 minutes: Orient do well to work the ball into the box on a rare attack, but Smith takes it off Mooney’s head.
9:27pm
82 minutes: McCormack swings in a cross which Williams heads wide.
9:25pm
80 minutes: Ritchie cuts inside and then fires wide along the floor.
9:23pm

SUBSTITUTION: Rowlands replaced by Jimmy Smith (78)

9:18pm
73 minutes: A fizzing volley from Cox goers over the bar.
9:15pm
70 minutes: Obudajo goes down looking for a penalty, but all he gets is a yellow card for diving.
9:15pm
69 minutes: Martin puts in a great cross, but there is no Town player able to get on the end of it.
9:14pm
68 minutes: Orient break, and Cox fires wide.
9:13pm

9:07pm

9:01pm
56 minutes: Lee Cook is booked for a foul on Thompson.
9:00pm
55 minutes: Town break at pace and McCormack fires in a cross which Ritchie does really well to angle at goal, but his shot is blocked.

54 minutes: Nathan Thompson goes into the book for a late tackle on Lloyd James. The following free-kick goes out for a corner which is caught by Wes Foderingham.
8:55pm
The second half has started much the same as the first ended, with Town pushing forward without being able to create any meaningful chances.
8:51pm
A few internet issues here at Brisbane Road, which have hopefully now been resolved. You haven't missed anything.
8:49pm
The game is back under way at Brisbane Road.
8:34pm
HALF-TIME: Leyton Orient 0 Swindon Town 0
8:32pm
45 minutes: Cook goes down under pressure from Ferry and Flint, but the referee turns his penalty appeals down. Looked a decent shout for me.
8:31pm
43 minutes: Alan McCormack gives away a free-kick in the corner for a foul on Moses Odubajo, but Lee Cook’s set piece is woeful and trundles into the side netting. One minute added.
8:30pm
41 minutes: Flint can only partially clear after going up with Mooney, and from the knockdown Charlie MacDonald fires into the side-netting.
8:29pm
40 minutes: Williams takes a nice ball from Collins and storms into the box, and after being tracked all the way by Cuthbert he goes down, but no penalty is given.
8:25pm
37 minutes: A great tackle from Tommy Miller wins the ball back for Town, and after he receives it from De Vita the midfielder sees a shot blocked.
8:22pm
SUBSTITUTION: Aden Flint replaces Joe Devera
8:19pm
Joe Devera is struggling a little bit, and is hobbling off to receive treatment. Not looking good.
8:17pm
28 minutes: Town win a corner, and Ritchie’s kick sends Jones scrabbling and Chorley has to head behind. The second corner is caught cleanly by keeper Jones.
8:16pm
27 minutes: Ritchie and Ferry link up well down the right, and the move ends with Ritchie side-footing a shot straight at Jones.
8:12pm
24 minutes: Matt Ritchie sends through a delightful ball for Williams, but he is flagged offside.
8:09pm
Bit of swirling rain starting to get a little heavier out there
8:07pm
18 minutes: Nathan Thompson skips all the way into the area before the ball bobbles to Collins, but the striker is offside before he takes his shot at the Orient goal, which Jones saves.
8:02pm
Not a pretty game by any means, but Town are having by far the better of it.
7:59pm
10 minutes: Ritchie takes aim from distance but his shot flies wide. Well-struck though.
7:57pm
Eight minutes: A sublime first touch from Williams allows him to bring the ball down and free Collins, and the striker chases and charges down Jamie Jones’ clearance. It is cleared.
7:53pm
Four minutes: Dave Mooney fires the ball very wide after a good Orient move.
7:51pm
Two minutes: Raffa De Vita has the first attacking run of the game, and wins a corner after beating Scott Cuthbert. After the initial set piece is cleared, De Vita sends it back in but Williams can only turn it over the bar with his knee.

Very sparse looking crowd here this evening at Brisbane Road, still a few minutes until kick-off but looks like it might be a small one.

DANGER MEN - The men Town have to watch tonight
MARTIN ROWLANDS

The experienced Irishman has made more than 400 appearances during his career, the majority of which came during his spells with Brentford and QPR. The midfielder can pick a pass, and despite now being 33 is still capable of threatening runs into the opposition box.
LEE COOK

Cook started his career at Aylesbury before making a move to Watford where he made a breakthrough which eventually enabled him to move to QPR, the team he supports.
During his time at Loftus Road he earned rave reviews for the quality of his delivery from wide on the left, and eventually moved to Fulham in the Premier League for £2.5million.
Injuries hampered his time at Craven Cottage, and after two loan spells at both former club QPR and Charlton he finds himself in League One with Orient. The winger scored the winner when the two sides met in September.
DAVID MOONEY

The well-travelled Mooney has been leading the line in the absence of Kevin Lisbie, and is capable of holding the ball up as well as getting in behind defences. He has scored nine goals in close to 60 matches for the Os following loan spells at Colchester, Charlton, Norwich and Stockport.
MICHAEL SYMES

A new signing at Orient, Symes has scored once so far this season since arriving from Bournemoth.
Symes started as a youth player at Everton, but didn't make the grade and eventually moved to Bradford. During two years at Valley Parade he was loaned out three times, latterly to Shrewsbury who he eventually joined permanently.
He impressed in his first two seasons in Shropshire but fell out of favour and was loaned out to Accrington, who he eventually joined full time. 13 goals saw him seal a move to Bournemouth, another of his former loan clubs, but was released after two years when he joined Orient. He is on the bench tonight, but he could be a threat if he gets on.
7:27pm
LAST TIME AT BRISBANE ROAD
Town also lost to the Os the last time they made the trip to Brisbane Road, going down 3-0 before eventually being relegated from League One.

END OF THE RUN
When Orient visited the County Ground at the start of September, Lee Cook scored the goal in a 1-0 win which brought to an end Town's unbeaten home run which had lasted more than a year.
LEE COOK
Town boss Paolo Di Canio was not happy with the way his side performed in the game.
“It is very bad but one day we have to lose at home," he said.
“It is not about the record but the way we lost doesn’t make me enjoy.
“There was not desire and 100 per cent commitment, and it is not to say my players did it deliberately, but it happens.
“After this week it makes me think I have overestimated some of my players."

Sam, don't see a problem with Chris Martin dropping to the bench, he will get some gametime (guess 65 minutes), Paolo picks his team after looking at the opposition, he sees Collins as the one to do the business tonight. Respect all our team and a Roberts/Martin combo coming on may be the answer if the going gets tough and we are chasing the game.
Could he also be reminding Collins that he is still very central to his plans amid interest from Wolves and West Brom?
7:12pm
The pitch is not in great condition at all, plenty of sand down to try and dry up moisture.

Good evening and welcome to Brisbane Road for this evening's League One clash between Leyton Orient and Swindon Town.
This game was of course due to be played on Boxing Day, but a waterlogged pitch saw the festive action cancelled. The pitch is not in great state tonight either, with patches of sand dotted all over the surface.

Jed McCrory is leading the consortium that are in advanced talks with Swindon Town in taking over the club. He has just led another consortium in the taking over of Banbury Utd in the latter months of 2012 so two clubs in around 4/5 months is rather odd and can he be a chairman of the two I wonder. The big issue now is can it be tied up before 31st Jan or will we have to sell a player or three to provide finances for the rest of the season. So where is the budget that everyone kept on about being there every month for this season. Fact is Town will have to possibly sell players if this deal does not get done in time.

Looked him up on Linkedin and had a word with a good mate on the stock exchange. Looks like he is a front man, not much money of his own, so its important to find out who else is in the consortium.

Given all the possession we had more a case of two points lost but bog of a pitch and swirling wind and rain and despite all that we could have lost. World. Class save from Fods and I thought they could could have had a pen. Ward solid Macca immense and his screamer deserved a goal. Roberts did nothing when he came on and gave the balls away twice in a minute. Was called harsh last week when I said taxi for Martin well now it's TAXI! The bloke ain't got it he's got less than Collins who was playing no worse. Think Pdc was just trying to shake things up. Ritchie ran his socks off and all those on for the full 90 put a shift in. Overall got to settle for the point on reflection I think.

Definitely 2 points dropped in terms of the game - but it is still another away point - and each one of those will be vital in the run in
.
Pitch was terrible and wind was dreadful an was blowing in all directions
.
We coped well in the first half and played some good stuff - in fact it was total domination - but didn't adapt well with the change of ends and let them back in it
.
Wes, Thompson, Ward, Macca, Ritchie and Ferry had good games
.
Ritchie back to his best tonight
.
Miller was excellent first half but less so in the 2nd
.
Collins and RDV were average - tried hard but nothing was really falling for them right
.
Collins didn't really get a clear cut chance - best was from a delightful free kick by Ritchie early in the 2nd but he just failed to get the vital touch
.
Williams is NOT a striker and certainly not our biggest threat - the guy can't finish!
.
Scuffed one over from 5 yards and then with 2 where he was through produced pass backs rather than shots
.
Yes he hit the post but that should have been in!
.
Martin and Roberts like PdC said were terrible today and made us work
.
I don't blame PdC as I felt we needed those changes to spark us back into life but they just didn't work
.
Martin is still way too fat! He could be good but needs a PdC pre-season
.
Don't know what was up with Roberts but it looked like he didn't want to be out there tonight - maybe time to give Luke Rooney another shot!
.
Flint was OK at the back but a liability in attack - considering he is so big he never wins a ball from a set piece and often gives away a free kick - which is worse than just not winning it as it lets them clear it and regroup

Still don't see that we should be too bothered about signing new players. The squad we have is good enough to do the job - that's if we can keep it together of course. It seems we either get the takeover done in the next few days or we have to sell players to keep us out of the brown stuff. So (as I see it anyway) deal or no deal = promotion or no promotion.
