SWINDON Town have reacted to the recall of Brad Smith by signing defender Harry Toffolo on a one-month's loan from Norwich City.

The left-sided defender was part of the Canaries' FA Youth Cup winning side in 2013 but is yet to make a senior appearance at Carrow Road.

Toffolo's boss at parent club Norwich, Neil Adams, believes the loan move offers his player a chance to get the first team experience neccessary for his development.

“Harry is at a stage now where he is ready for first-team football, or certainly to be involved in a first-team environment on a daily basis," said the Canaries boss.

“He’s going to a club that are doing well and like to play the right way. We don’t want to just put players with any clubs, we want to put them with a club that we feel will benefit them, the player and us.

“He’ll go there for a month and obviously we’ll review that and see how it goes, but he’s looking forward to it and it’s a good opportunity for him.”

The 19-year-old former England age-group international should come straight into contention for tomorrow's home game with Rochdale. The move is also a further example of the chairman Lee Power's fruitful relationship with Norwich, his former club.
