CLEEVE Tech have taken a friendly approach as they enjoy life at the top of Division Three with a 6-1 win over Cross Street.

Cleeve Tech manager Gary Chappell has put his sides storming start to the season down to the fact the team played 10 friendly games before the start of the campaign to help gel the team.

The approach to the season is paying dividends, with the team only losing one of their opening five matches and they currently sit three points above second place Tap & Barrel.

“We pretty much dominated the game from the start,” said Chappell.

“It was only 1-0 at half-time but after we scored again in the second half they sort of went to pieces.

“It was probably the best performance we have had for a number of years.

“I think our good start is down to a massive amount of friendlies we had at the start of the season, we had about ten.

“The league is in our hands now after the start we have had but there are a lot of good teams in the league so we need to keep up the standard.

“When you’re top you get everyone looking at you and there is pressure. but it is only Sunday league and we are enjoying it.”
