ADVER Sport's Tom Bassam with his ratings from Town's defeat to Rochdale

Wes Foderingham

Part of a defence that conceded from two set-pieces, has to shoulder some blame for that. Did make one great save to keep the score at 0-0. 6

Jack Stephens

Looked more assured and is improving again having got past his shaky second start in a Town shirt. However a defence cannot concede three and claim a good performance. 6

Yaser Kasim

Played reasonably well in an unusual position but showed his true colours when moved back into midfield. 6

Jordan Turnbull

Town’s best defender and looked good coming out down the left, another who was absent for the set-piece goals. 6

Nathan Byrne

Town’s best player and a constant threat down the right. Chose the wrong option late on when he had the chance to give Town the lead. 8*

Anton Rodgers

Scored and did ok but in general could not replace Kasim’s ability to play on the pivot in front of the defence. 6

Massimo Luongo

A brave performance if not one containing his usual level of skill. 6

Ben Gladwin

Played a couple of lovely passes, demonstrated his delicate feet. Pretty feet if unspectacular with his output. 6

Amari’i Bell

A couple of great bursts forward but these were punctuated by some poor passes and it was little surprise to see him withdrawn. 6

Michael Smith

Scored again and linked well with Williams, one of only a few who can take much credit from the game.

Andy Williams

Looked sharp and dangerous. Had a couple of chances to add to his tally, and should have scored near the end. 6

SUBS

Louis Thompson (on for Gladwin, 51)

Filled in well at the back again, he could probably play anywhere and look accomplished. 7

Jake Reeves (on for Rodgers, 63)

Buzzed around but couldn’t provide the incision needed. 6

Jonathan Obika (on for Bell, 74)

Added some menace to the forward line with his strength and nearly scored a late header. 7
