SWINDON Town have been drawn against Cheltenham in the first round of the FA Cup.
The game will be played at Whaddon Road on the weekend of November 7/8/9. Town have never played the Gloucestershire side in the FA Cup before but based on their recent league meetings Mark Cooper's will not be taking the derby lightly.
Town have won once in their four visits to their near neighbours and hold a poor overall record in games with Cheltenham, winning just two and losing five of their nine previous match-ups.
However Robins boss Mark Cooper was happy with draw, adding the derby atmosphere will make it an exciting occasion for the fans.
"It's a good draw," he said. "It's one for the fans - they'll be looking forward to it. We'll be guaranteed a great atmosphere.
"It's a very tough draw because Cheltenham are a good team at home but it's a tie that will excite the fans because it's a local derby."
