A SCRAPPY goal could be just the tonic for a Supermarine side who are looking to put a bad run of form behind them.

Dave Webb’s side are without a win in three after slipping to a 2-1 defeat to Wimborne on Saturday and travel to Cinderford Town for the re-arranged Red Insure Cup game.

Supermarine were also dealt another injury blow on Saturday when Kyle Lapham hobbled off in the second half, and was later revealed to have torn a calf muscle.

In better news, the South Marston outfit could have striker Luke Hopper back in contention for a starting place, which could ease the side’s problems in front of goal.

“On Saturday we had some good chances but we have not taken them again and we have made a couple of mistakes which has cost us,’’ said Webb.

“I know it is the Red Insure Cup but we need to win a football match and we will be going there to do that.

“With Kyle out the back four will have to change again and that is not helping us either at the moment.

“So there will be a few enforced changes but I am taking the whole squad that I have got so I have the option to change things around.

“I think all the strikers we have are capable of doing well and we have been putting in sessions on finishing where they are scoring but it is just taking that into the game.”
