Swindon Town v Doncaster Rovers

SWINDON will be looking to extend their winning ways on Saturday when they host Doncaster Rovers at the County Ground. Doncaster, relegated from the Championship last season, find themselves at the wrong end of the table and, like Yeovil, are in a fight to avoid a successive drop into League Two.

Doncaster will want the win to strengthen their position in the league while Town will be wanting to keep up the pressure on that other team above them and to show our intent to the rest of the League and that it is not by luck that we are where we are.

Doncaster come into this game unbeaten in their last six games away from Keepmoat, so they will be no push over. Since 2000, Town have faced Rovers on four occasions at the County Ground, winning one, drawing two and losing one.

Although Doncaster Rovers were formed in the same year as Swindon, in the ensuing 135 years the two teams have only met 20 times in all competitions. Town have only won 3 times and drawn nine games.

But this season the stats are rewriting themselves. We hadn’t won at London Road in 10 years, until this season. Meadow Lane was not a happy hunting ground, until this season. And Doncaster Rovers will be sent packing as we claim another scalp of a so called bogie team.
