ALUN Rossiter wants the Swindon Robins to bounce back from their Lakeside hammering and kick-start their Elite League season at King’s Lynn tonight.

A Robins line-up featuring no fewer than four guests were thrashed 62-28 in Essex in their last meeting just under a fortnight ago.

Swindon will again be without captain Troy Batchelor and number one Adrian Miedzinksi through injury in Norfolk this evening, but welcome back Kyle Howarth fresh off the back of his triumph in the British Under-21 Final.

The Robins are languishing second from bottom in the table after recording one victory in their opening three meetings but boss Rossiter says it is far too early to take any notice of that.

“I was very disappointed with last time,” said Rossiter.

“We definitely want to do better than that. We were severely hampered but we got guests in that I thought would have done better than they did.

“It was a tough night for us but we caught a Lakeside side that were on fire and they were too go for us on the day.

“We’ll have Kyle this time and that’ll be a big boost for us so we’ll go to King’s Lynn looking for a big improvement.

“It’s very difficult when you’re working with the averages and trying to get guys in but I feel like we’ve got two good guests in who are looking forward to it.

“All the riders love riding at King’s Lynn so hopefully we can use that to our advantage and it’ll give us a bit of a boost.

“It’s way too early to be looking at the league table. It’s obviously not ideal and I don’t like looking at it but it’s still very early days and there is a long, long way to go yet.”

Dakota North will be back in Swindon colours this evening and will guest in place of Batchelor.

The Australian left the Abbey Stadium to join Poole Pirates at the end of last season but Rossiter had no qualms in asking North to come back in.

Coventry Bees ace Chris Harris will also feature for the Robins against King’s Lynn, taking Miedzinski’s number one spot.

Rossiter added: “Dak’s a good rider and you can’t just say that now he’s left us to go to Poole that we’ll write him off.

“Speedway is too small a community to hold grudges. You never know when you might have to go back to someone and ask for a bit of help, like we have done here.

“Chris has started the season off really well. It’s always nice when you’ve got someone coming in with a bit of confidence and hopefully he can carry that on.

“With the World Cup coming up I’m sure he’ll appreciate any extra time he gets up at King’s Lynn.”
