LECHLADE coach Luke Sellers has warned that his side have yet to reach their full potential this term despite a fine start to life in Premier Two.

The Manor Ground outfit were promoted from the Glos/Wilts Division last term and there was a slight worry from the coach about how the team would adapt to life at the higher.

But two wins from three matches, which has seen South African Under 19s World Cup winner Brad Dial strike two 150-plus scores, has allayed those fears as Lechlade sit third in the early season table.

“I think it is pleasing that we have won two of our first three games and we haven’t got near our best,” Sellers said.

“We have been carried a bit by the form of Brad, but there is a lot more come from us.”

Sellers, who takes his side to Goatacre tomorrow, says that the Lechlade players need to improve in all areas of the game.

“We dropped nine catches last weekend - had we taken our chances then we would have won a lot more comfortably and it was the same against Cheltenham,” the Lechlade coach said.

“We still have got a few of our key batsmen who have yet to hit form, but they are experienced campaigners and they will come good.

“And our bowling has not been at full tilt yet.”

Lechlade’s attack will be boosted by the return on Freddie Martin this weekend as he returns from university to open the bowling, however, the side are still missing wicketkeeper Sam Burdock.

Sellers says that he will turn to his skipper Joe Breet about who to approach several of the Goatacre players having played with them for Wiltshire.
