JOHN Swift will seek the advice of some of his Chelsea teammates before he heads to Wembley for the first time as a player.

Swift has been back and forth between Chelsea’s Cobham training base and Swindon getting treatment for a calf strain in a bid to get fit for tomorrow’s play-off final.

For the 19-year-old, who yesterday was called-up by Aidy Boothroyd for England Under 20s Toulon tournament squad, being at Chelsea means he is able to draw on the experiences of some serious top-level experience.

Many of his clubmates have made multiple appearances in big finals, including a number of Wembley finals, the most a recent the League Cup success over Tottenham this year.

Swift, who is now back with Swindon, has sought advice from the Premier League stars in the past and, given the opportunity, would appreciate some advice ahead of his first Wembley appearance.

“If I got the chance to speak to one of the first team players about Wembley I would,” Swift old the Advertiser.

“It’s a massive stage and a lot of those players have done and it would be good get a word of advice.

“They’ve done it on the big stage, cup finals, Champions League final, so it would be great to get something like from them, hopefully it’s not too late.

“They first team players are great to get advice from. If you go up and speak to them. They’ll answer any questions you’ve got and are generally nice overall.

“In training and everything, it’s all good, they help you out on and off the pitch. Even though it’s a big team when it comes to things off the pitch they’re all down to earth.”
