ROUND four of the Bisha South West Senior League at Ridgeway Leisure Centre saw Swindon Flames achieve two wins.

League leaders Cardiff Panthers went through the day unbeaten but Gloucester’s Sprint Raiders failed in their attempt to achieve a place as runners-up.

The Raiders started with an 11-4 win over the Swindon Chiefs, but the young Flames team, consisting mainly of their junior players, again did their reputations no harm in an 8-2 defeat to Cardiff. Liam Coleman set up Jacob Elliott-Latham for both Flames goals.

Sprint Raiders went down to the Panthers 7-1 before the Flames met the Chiefs and again saw off their local rivals 7-4.

The first period was tight with the score ending 3-3. In the second period, the Flames upped a gear and were able to pull away to take the game comfortably as Coleman hit a hat-trick while Zack Dolphin scored twice for the Chiefs.

The major upset of the day came as the Flames edged out the Sprint Raiders 5-4.

The first period was a tight affair but Coleman broke away twice to give his side the lead.

Raiders scored twice after the break as Chris Wyatt levelled, only for Coleman and Matt Tull to extend the lead again.

Wyatt and Alex Elder hauled the Raiders level again, but Coleman scored a fourth to decide it.

The final game saw the Chiefs face the Cardiff Panthers but, down to just a netminder and four outfield players, Swindon fell to a 21-0 defeat.
