IT HAS been a mixed day for Swindon Town’s youth sides who have played another day of the Gothia Cup.

The U14 Boys lost 6-0 to Dutch side FC Tricolore, their result was bettered by U16 Girls’ side who claimed a 1-1 draw with Ekeby with the goal coming from Charlie Rowlands.

The girls then progressed knockout stages last night where they met Germany's TSV Lesumstotel.

After going a goal down, Rowlands levelled the score before Helena Diaz-Butcher put Town into the lead.

TSV then took a 3-2 lead before a late goal sent the game to penalty in which Town ran out 5-4 winners to reach the last 16.

The U16 boys saw out an impressive 6-1 over Noujoumi FC with Noah Howell and Jack Tyson putting them 2-0 up.

The same pair then both added to their personal tallies taking Swindon to a 4-0 lead, with teammates Isaac Armand, who scored a spectacular long range effort and Luke Trice who retaliated to Swindon conceding.

Their victory rubbed off on the U14 girls, goals from Sophie Roberts, Ellie Butler and Emily Arrell helped them to a 3-1 triumph of Umea Sodra FF The winning run continued, the U15 girls then overcame IK Vijan with help from Sophie Butler, Katie Evans and Emily Arrell.

Tom Pugh scored the only goal for the U14 boys as they lost 6-1 to Lerums IS 2.
