JACK Powell, who was on trial with Swindon Town earlier this summer, has signed for National League South side Ebbsfleet United.

The midfielder was a second-half substitute in Town's opening pre-season friendly with Swindon Supermarine, having been released by fellow League One outfit Millwall.

  • ARSENAL have completed the signing of Bolton Wanderers defender Rob Holding for £2million.

The 20-year-old, who has joined on a long-term contract, made 30 appearances for the Trotters in his first senior campaign last season, scoring once.

Holding was also involved in the England U21s squad that won the Toulon tournament in France earlier this year.

  • BRADFORD City have drafted in their second goalkeeper of the window by bringing in German stopper Rouven Sattelmaier.

The 28-year-old has signed a one-year deal with the Bantams after a successful trial period.

The Premier League champions released the 35-year-old in June after he spent all of last season on loan at Queens Park Rangers.

The 29-year-old former Norwich City man has put pen to paper on a two-year contract after leaving Blackburn Rovers.

  • ELSEWHERE, South United manager Phil Brown has admitted that he would be interested in becoming England’s assistant manager if the role was offered to him.

"When the national assistant role comes around, it's a different ball game altogether," said the 57-year-old, who was Sam Allardyce’s assistant at Bolton and Blackpool.

"I wouldn't have said I'm in the running, but if that comes around, it's different to being assistant manager at a domestic team."
