AdverSport’s Dan Barnes hands out his player ratings from Swindon Town’s 3-1 loss to Northampton Town at the County Ground tonight.

Lawrence Vigouroux

Didn’t do an awful lot wrong but was left to pick the ball out of his net three times – 6.

Raphael Branco

Defended well enough at times but his passing left a little to be desired – 6.

Nathan Thompson (C)

Timed his interceptions superbly and acted as Town’s chief creator on the ball as he drifted into midfield time and again to get his side motoring. A virtuoso display – 8.

Lloyd Jones

Used his height to good effect when challenging for the ball in the air but could have been more accurate with the ball at his feet – 6.

Darnell Furlong

Grew as an offensive threat in the second period after a quiet first 45 – 6.

Yaser Kasim

Showed some good composure in the final third but wasn’t able to conjure up enough magic to drag his team to a result – 6.

Conor Thomas

Neat and tidy on the ball in midfield and did a solid job deputising at centre-half in the second period – 6.

John Goddard

Looked effective when getting in between the lines and became more of a threat as the game wore on – 7.

Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill

Made some good last-ditch challenges and like his fellow wing-back Furlong, grew to become an offensive outlet in the second period – 7.

Jonathan Obika

Looked confident and patient when on the ball but wasn’t quite at his sharpest on the night – 6.

Luke Norris

Back in the starting line-up after three matches coming off the bench and held the ball up well when needed but his final product was lacking – 5.

Substitutes

Sean Murray (on for Jones, ’45)

Added some verve to the Town midfield after his introdution and got himself a goal by chancing his luck from outside the area – 7.

Nathan Delfouneso (on for Norris, ’87)

Left no time at all to make an impact – 5.
