NORTHAMPTON Town may have been 3-1 winners over Luke William’s Swindon Town, but they scored an own goal after striker JJ Hooper, who is on loan from Port Vale, had to come on without a number on his shirt.

After initial confusion it turns out it was a simple as the kit man forgetting to pack the 22-year-old's shirt. Despite this it didn’t prevent him setting up the Cobblers' third goal to secure their victory.

“We forgot his jersey. It’s as simple as that, I’d love to make something up, but we just got on with it and didn’t make a fuss about it.” said Northampton manager, Rob Page.

WALSALL boss Jon Whitney claimed his players would have him ‘queuing up at the dole office’ after his team lost 4-1 to Scunthorpe.

“Some players have got to realise what they do has a consequence. It affects my family. It affects my mortgage.” said the Walsall manager.

WITH their team at the foot of the League One table, Coventry City fans have penned an open letter to chairman Tim Fisher.

The letter, published on coventrycity-mad.co.uk, raises several issues such as falling attendances, the Ricoh Arena and the quality of the current squad.

“I struggle to think of any modicum of success that has been achieved by the club since you took charge,” it read.

“The overall quality of the current squad is the worst in living memory. In my view, it is a tale of failure, mediocrity and incompetence.”

CHARLTON Athletic’s teenage sensation Ezri Konsa is reportedly attracting interest from several Premier League clubs according national newspaper reports.

It’s been reported that scouts from Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea were all in attendance at the Addicks’ 1-1 draw with Oldham Athletic.

NEIL Harris slammed Millwall’s latest performance as they slipped to a 3-1 defeat at Port Vale. The former striker branded the performance ‘not good enough’.
