SWINDON Town coach Ross Embleton says that pressure in football never stops – whether you are at the top or fighting for your lives.

While every single Town fan would much rather be fighting for promotion in League One rather than being in their current predicament, Embleton feels that life on the pitch wouldn’t be any easier.

“We talked to the Sheffield United staff the other week and they are under just as much pressure as we are trying to get out of the league,” the former Bournemouth youth team manager said.

“I don’t think the pressure ever stops until you are in a position where you can’t go up or down and there are three or four games remaining, so I suppose it would be a little bit more comfortable.

“But you heap the pressure back on yourselves as you prepare for the next season, we were in that position last year, it is tough times for everybody.

“It is an experience that will hopefully make us all stronger and hopefully we will come out the other side of it.”

With Town seven points adrift of safety, Embleton says that they are all fighting to find a way to get themselves out of trouble in the seven remaining games – starting this lunchtime against Millwall.

“We are trying to find a way out, no one has given up by any stretch,” the County Ground coach said. “We are fighting every day to put it right.

“Hopefully this weekend when we face Millwall we can get a positive result and start to put a little run together that will give us, the supporters and the club the hope that we need to stay up.”
