ADVER Sport takes a look at Swindon Town's next League One opponents, Scunthorpe United

THE CHALKBOARD

SCUNTHORPE United may be travelling to take on Swindon Town with their League One play-off place already in the bag, but there is no chance of them taking their foot off the gas this weekend.

With second-placed Bolton Wanderers stuttering towards the finish line, Graham Alexander’s side are looking to apply the maximum amount of pressure as they can still finish in the automatic promotion spots over the final two games.

Swindon Advertiser:

Scunthorpe's Murray Wallace has played ever game this season

Although the Iron would have gratefully accepeted a top-six finish at the start of the season, there is a twinge of disappoint in the air given the way they have faltered since their flying start to the campaign.

However, they are back in top form ahead of the trip to the County Ground with three wins in their last three.

LIKELY LINE-UP

Swindon Advertiser:

A MAN IN FORM: Ivan Toney

Swindon Advertiser:

Ivan Toney

THERE is no doubt about who Scunthorpe United’s player of the year is, with their lofty standing in League One largely based on the outstanding form of Josh Morris.

However, in recent weeks, he has been left in the shadow of Ivan Toney, with the on-loan striker enjoying a real purple patch in form.

Toney joined the Iron in January from Championship side Newcastle until the end of the season, and took a while to find his feet at the club.

After notching just once in his first nine games, Toney has five goals in his last five games, including a brace in the 3-1 win at home to Chesterfield on Easter Monday.

The 21-year-old started the season on loan at another League One side - Shrewsbury Town - however, he was more noted for his ill-discipline than goals.

In 26 Shrews appearances, he scored seven times but picked up 12 bookings and was sent off once.

He appears to have mellowed at the Iron and it has paid off in front of goal.

TREATMENT ROOM

FORMER Swindon Town player Harry Toffolo may not have played in more than a month but he is fully fit to make the trip to the County Ground with Scunthorpe United this weekend.

Swindon Advertiser:

Harry Toffolo

Toffolo helped Town reach the League One play-off final two years ago while on loan from Norwich and is now enjoying another temporary stint in the third tier, this time at the Iron.

Toffolo has not played since March 18 because of a thigh strain but was back amongst the Scunthorpe substitutes against Chesterfield on Easter Monday so there is no reason why he cannot be in the squad to take on Town.

However, Iron boss Graham Alexander will definitely be without goalkeeper Luke Daniels, Matt Crooks, Charlie Goode and Tom Hopper as the quartet have all suffered season-ending injuries in recent weeks.
