HEAD coach Luke Williams says he has not even begun to think about his own job security while he attempts to help Swindon Town stave off relegation from League One.

Town are three points adrift off safety with two games to go and their fate could be sealed this afternoon should they fail to beat fourth-placed Scunthorpe United at home.

Williams was appointed as Town head coach on a five-year contract just over a year ago but his position could come under threat should the club drop into the fourth tier.

When asked how hard it was to just focus on Town’s final two games of the season rather than the safety of his own position, Williams replied: “For me, that bit is not a problem.

“The overwhelming sense of duty towards this football club at the moment and this group of players is stopping me from thinking about anything else.

“I am a capable person, I can work, I can find a job if I don’t have one here in the future – I am scared of nothing.

“The only thing that concerns me is the plight of this football club and that is occupying all of my thoughts.”

With the threat of relegation looming large, Williams is aware that his own future at the club is far from assured but he says he will continue to give his heart and soul to Town until told otherwise.

“My opinion is that I should work every single day as if this is my only club ever,” said Williams.

“I should work every day like the next game is the most important, I should work every day like the current crop of players are the most important, that I should give everything to them, but have a knowledge in my mind to know that might not be the case.

“I think the trick is to try to work every day as if it is your club for life and the only thing that matters is that and deal with other scenarios as and when they arise.”
