ROHAN Ince doesn’t want to dwell on the past or his own future as Scunthorpe United roll up at the County Ground this afternoon.

The 24-year-old Brighton & Hove Albion loanee refused to be drawn on his own future after his parent club secured promotion to the Premier League.

While the midfielder admits conversations have taken place between his parent club and his agent, Ince remains focused on his last two games for Swindon Town.

“To be honest I am just trying to concentrate on the rest of the season, get that over and done with and keep Swindon up,” said Ince.

“I’ve spoken to them (Brighton) and given them all congratulations. The club is buzzing and rightly so, they came very close to getting promoted last year but fell at the last hurdle.

“This year they have been strong and dominant all season.

“People have spoken to my agent but I’m not going to say too much about that.

“It’s unfortunate that we haven’t had the results we’ve wanted or deserved. But the positives are I, myself, have been playing well - that is what every footballer wants to do.

“But it’s more important for the team to play well and get the wins.

“It feels good. I am happy that I am playing well and being recognised by the fans.”

Over the Easter break, Swindon could only muster a solitary point following their 0-0 stalemate with AFC Wimbledon.

They then followed that up with a disappointing 1-0 defeat at Walsall.

But the Swindon midfielder wants his teammates to sweep those results under the carpet ahead of today’s vital clash with Scunthorpe as any but a victory could see Swindon relegated should results elsewhere go against them.

“We have to forget it, it’s gone now. The task is the last two games and all of our focus is on that,” he said.

“Any team can beat any team in this league, just because they are higher in the league it doesn’t mean that on the day they are going to be better than us.

“If we give our all and stick to the game plan we have more of a chance of beating those teams.

“We have worked on being really solid at the back and I think that has shown in the games because we are hard to get through.

“If we can managed some goals with that then it will be a good couple of games.”
