SWINDON Robins youngster Adam Ellis was able to turn his poor club form around by scoring nine points in his U21 World Championship semi-final at the weekend.

The 21-year-old, who arrived at the Abbey Stadium from Poole Pirates over the winter, has struggled to find his feet for his new club in the SGB Premiership so far this season.

After scoring a total of five points in his last two meetings for Alun Rossiter’s side, the Brit would have been desperate to find some kind of form when he travelled to Eskilstuna on Saturday night.

Although he was unble to progress to the final, Ellis’ improved performance was rewarded with nine points in Sweden, leaving him in eighth place.

Fellow GB youngster Robert Lambert won afters weighing in with an impressive haul of 14 points, while second place was occupied by Lavtvian Jevgenijs Kostigovs, as Frechman Dmitri Berge came in third.

The fourth and final qualification spot was taken up by Bartosz Smektala, who won a run-off with Alexander Woentin, Czugunov and Frederik Jakobsen.

Ellis will return to action for Swindon tonight when they travel to Wolverhampton Wolves for their latest SGB Premiership fixture.
