SWINDON started the match with a lot of possession and were knocking the ball about really well. In the fifth minute they nearly scored, as a cross came in from the right had side but Keshi Anderson missed a tap in by inches.

In the eighth minute Town got the ball in the back of the net through Luke Norris, who scored from a Chris Hussey corner.

Swindon hit jackpot again in the 13th minute this time from Anderson who did a lovely one-two with Norris and then finished it off.

Time went by with no major chances happening the closest was when Luke Norris struck a firm volley from 30 yards which went inches wide.

HALF-TIME - SWINDON TOWN 2 STEVENAGE 0

Town started the second half with Anderson striking the post from the edge of the box in the 46th minute.

Stevenage then scored in the 53rd minute from a quickly-taken free kick that they shouldn’t have had due to poor refereeing.

Ten minutes later a Stevenage player handballed in the box to earn Swindon a penalty which Norris converted.

With one minute to go  Stevenage player Joe Martin scorred a stunning free kick to put Town under pressure for the five minutes stoppage time but Town held on to earn their first home win under David Flitcroft.

FULL-TIME: SWINDON TOWN 3 STEVENAGE 2

The man of the match was awarded to Norris, who scored two goals, taking his goal tally to six in all competitions this season.

Kellan Gordon, who has only now played three professional matches to date, looked fantastic down the right wing, he was spot on despite his inexperience at this level.

Former Swindon legend Lee Peacock has this week joined Swindon Town as Head of Coaching in the academy. I wish him every success in his new role.

The next home game is Tuesday evening against Coventry who are currently sitting two places ahead of us in the League Two table. I look forward to watching us play with same skill and enthusiasm as we did on Saturday.
