DAVID Flitcroft feels his Swindon Town side merit more respect for their achievements so far this season after they came from behind to earn victory at Yeovil Town this afternoon.

Goals from substitutes Kellan Gordon and striker Keshi Anderson handed Town the three points after Rhys Broen had given Yeovil and early lead at Huish Park.

It was Town's seventh win in nine away league games this season and took their unbeaten run in all competitions to seven matches, but Flitcroft feels his side are not getting the credit they deserve.

The manager was irked by media coverage of his side's 2-2 draw against Chesterfield at the County Ground last week and heaped praise on his players for another thoroughly merited three points on the road.

"We had a plan. I think there is a very short-termism to a lot of the press around Swindon, on what we're trying to do this season.'' said Flitcroft.

"That's been so consistent this season. We wanted to protect what was probably the best away record in the country.

"We were disappointed at probably not getting the three points and I looked at the (Swindon) Advertiser and what they wrote about that and probably people might start giving more respect to what these players do and what they do for each other.

"I've seen a team galvanised by spirit and galvanised by protecting something.

"I see Chesterfield beat Exeter today and they're taking points off everyone because they're a good team.

"But again, the way it (last week) was put over that they were this rock-bottom team, this terrible side that we only gained a point (from).

"So then we've had to come here again and fight for ourn lives and we've done that fantastically well.''

"I'm really proud of the players and the away support.''

Flitcroft feels a great bond is developing between Town and their travelling support, buoyed by that magnifficent away record.

"That really felt like the away support appreciated that performance and the passion the players showed,'' he added.

"We moved the ball well and created chances. How we've gone into half-time one goal down I do not know. I've not got a clue.

"I've not a clue how Timi's (Elsnik) not scored, how Keshi has not scored before that.

"We're going to need a squad to win football matches and Kellan has come on and done the business.

"Keshi kept foraging all day. I thought second half he was fantastic, kept landing on the ball, had a couple of chances and ends up scoring the winner.''
