SWINDON Wildcats have cemented their new partnership with the town’s junior ice hockey programme by signing up two of its rising stars to the 2009-10 roster.
Cats head coach Ryan Aldridge has handed James Griffin and Loris Taylor academy places after their performances in last season’s league-winning Swindon Cougars Under 18s side and the Under 16 Lepards outfit.
“These two guys have a lot of work ahead of them, but I’m confident that they will grasp the learning opportunity with both hands,’’ said Aldridge.
“The signing of the players for the Wildcats is a positive example of how the Swindon Wildcats are working with the new Academy and the community.
In addition, the club have launched of the Swindon Wildcats Ice Hockey Academy (SWIHA), with the juniors adopting the club’s distinctive red and white colours.
Sue Aldridge, chair of Swindon Junior Ice Hockey Club, said: “All junior players aspire to become Wildcats and this new partnership will improve their prospects.’’
